Iranian film ‘A+’ wins Short Shorts Festival audience award

Iran’s short film ‘A+’ wins audience award at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan.

Iran’s short film ‘A+’, directed by Behrang Mirzaei, has won audience choice at Academy Awards-accredited Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan.

According to a media release from Iranian Youth Cinema Society, ‘A+’ won Asia International Competition audience award at the 21st edition of SSFF & ASIA.

“A young woman can’t take her heavy grocery bags home. She asks a little boy to help her. But that is just the beginning. The story brings two perfect strangers into each other’s personal lives,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Commenting on the award, Mirzaei said “This is awesome. I want to thank all the people who watched and voted for the film.”

The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia is accredited by the Academy Awards and is one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia, according to the website of the event.

The gala takes place in Tokyo, in June every year. It has been running since 1999.
